Our Dream Performer Picks for a Wedding Day

Jennifer Lopez was reportedly paid $2 million to perform at a wedding in India, and honestly, what a wild, awesome flex that is. She flew to Udaipur for the event, which was a massive four-day celebration hosted by an extremely wealthy family. Lopez didn’t just show up with a microphone, she brought the full production: dancers, lights, staging, the whole deal. If you’re dropping $2 million for a performance, you definitely want the full Jennifer Lopez experience. Her set lasted about an hour, making it basically a private concert in the middle of a wedding. Not a bad trip to India.

That sparked a fun conversation about which artist everyone would choose to perform at their own wedding if money wasn’t an issue. George Strait was one of the first picks from Amy: classic, romantic, always a good vibe. Eddie went big and said U2, imagining dreamy, emotional songs filling the room. Coldplay also made his list for similar reasons. Lunchbox leaned toward Bruno Mars, because who wouldn’t want upbeat hits, big horns, and a total party atmosphere.

Then Bobby shared a reminder that his own wedding basically had a lineup straight out of an awards show. Thanks to Nashville friends and talented neighbors, he and his wife had Ronnie Dunn singing “Neon Moon,” Rascal Flatts performing songs like “Fast Cars and Freedom” and “Bless the Broken Road,” and Dan + Shay doing their first dance song, “Forever.” There was even a huge neon “moon” sign that dropped during “Neon Moon" with their names, which they still have today. If Bobby had to pick someone outside of the artists who already performed, his choice would be John Mayer. Romantic songs, guitar magic, and the perfect balance of love-themed music and performance energy.
