NASCAR Star Daniel Suárez Helps Pack 8,500 Meals at Darlington Raceway

Darlington Raceway proved once again it’s more than just “The Track Too Tough to Tame.” On Tuesday, the iconic South Carolina venue became a hub of community service as volunteers gathered to pack thousands of meals for families in need across the Palmetto State.

Coca‑Cola Consolidated partnered with Harvest Hope Food Bank for the event, bringing together employees, community leaders and racing fans with one shared goal: fighting food insecurity. Adding star power to the meaningful day was NASCAR Cup Series driver Daniel Suárez, who rolled up his sleeves and worked alongside volunteers to help make a difference off the track.

In just a few hours, the group packed an impressive 1,020 boxes filled with essential pantry items like spaghetti, oatmeal, peanut butter, tuna, and canned vegetables. Those efforts translated into more than 8,500 meals that will soon be distributed to families across South Carolina through Harvest Hope Food Bank’s network serving 20 counties, including Florence, Columbia, and Greenville.

The event was part of Coca‑Cola Consolidated’s nationwide America250 initiative, celebrating the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary by supporting communities through hands‑on service projects. The Darlington Raceway stop highlighted how local action can have a statewide impact.

For Suárez, community involvement is just as important as competition. “Being part of NASCAR is about more than what happens on the track,” he said. “Giving back and helping families who need it most is incredibly important.”

Darlington Raceway will continue its packed schedule with upcoming community and racing events, including the Speed & Feed BBQ Festival & Car Show on May 16 and the legendary Southern 500 returning Labor Day Weekend.

From racing history to real‑world impact, Darlington Raceway continues to show why it’s a South Carolina landmark.
