A group of former football players from South Carolina State University were honored 44 years after they made history as part of the university's 1981 draft class. The players, who entered the NFL in a single year, were recognized during a celebration at the campus fine arts building. The players, who spent a combined 38 years on NFL rosters, achieved notable accomplishments, including super bowl appearances and pro bowl selections. The draft class members were enshrined in the S.C. State Athletic Hall of Fame and received resolutions from the South Carolina House of Representatives and commemorative gifts from the S.C. State Bulldog Former Athletes Association.
