Hoda Kotb has a renewed view of the world, and it’s all thanks to her daughter, Haley Joy.
The ‘Today Show’ co-host recently reflected on her motherhood journey in an interview with Cody Alan. During the interview, Hoda exposed the best parts of motherhood and revealed that she has found a restored view for the future.
“I think it’s the realization that someone can fill your heart to capacity like that,” shared Hoda during the interview. “I just have never, um, I didn’t know what that felt like.I knew love existed, obviously because I have been in love and I have loving parents, and family and friends. But I didn’t know this part.” Hoda thoughtfully paused. “I didn’t know I was capable of loving someone so much. I just didn’t realize and looking at Haley all the sudden I see the future. I don’t know if I ever did, really, until her.”
Cody, who is also a parent, understood precisely what Hoda was saying. “What’s the most fun part?” he asked.
“Oh my god, everything! I laugh at nothing! She will see an escalator and, we are like, “OH MY GOD! LOOK!” It’s always things I didn’t care about before, but now we are giggling over them. Everything is just so exciting! I knew love existed, but I didn’t know this part.”
On March 2nd, 2019, Hoda celebrated the release of her newest children’s book ‘You Are My Happy,’ which follows Hoda’s first book, New York Times best-seller, ‘I’ve Loved You Since Forever.’ Both books were inspired by Haley Joy and are reflective of the love between a parent and child.
Outside of her role co-hosting the ‘Today Show’, Hoda is an active bedtime storytelling aficionado. Hoda shared with Cody, “Every night before I put Haley to bed, we read, and I always say to her, “Do you know what my favorite time of day is? And I just say, “Right Now.”
