Now this is something I can get behind! North Vista Elementary teamed up with Pepsi-Cola of Florence and unveiled a vending machine...not one with snacks or candy or soda...ONE WITH BOOKS!
This machine takes tokens and the children can pick whatever book they want. To get those tokens they have to reach reading goals or other goals.
I don't know about you, but if I got to pick a book out of a vending machine and take it home, I am pretty sure I would make sure to reach whatever goals I need to to get that token.
Pepsi-Cola donated the machine to the school and said it was a unique opportunity for everyone involved. It is a great way to encourage students.
