Kane Brown and his wife, Katelyn Brown, say they have a “new perspective” on their romantic duet since it inspired a Lifetime holiday movie.
Kane and Katelyn executive produced Thank God: Christmas at Keller Ranch, which “follows a pro hockey player who finds romance with a grieving rancher,” per IMDb. The Stefan Brogren-directed Lifetime movie was inspired by the married duo’s award-winning collaboration, “Thank God,” which they released onKane’s 2022 studio album, Different Man. Kane said the opportunity to turn his song with Katelyn into a movie “was awesome,” and Katelyn said “we were flattered,” when thy appeared on TODAY on Monday (December 8).
“We met through music, and we were looking for duets to do together. …I thought it was perfect for us,” Kane said of the first time he heard “Thank God.” Katelyn agreed that it was “undeniable,” that it was the perfect song for the couple.
“So, thank God/ I get to wake up by your side/ And thank God/ Your hand fits perfectly in mine/ And thank God/ You loved me when you didn't have to/ But you did, and you do, and he knew/ Thank God for giving me you/ Thank God/ Thank God for giving me you”
During their appearance on the TODAY show, Kane and Katelyn went on to talk about the holidays with their family (daughters Kingsley Rose, 6, Kodi Jane, 3, and son Krewe Allen, 1), and share what they’re thankful for this holiday season. Katelyn said she’s thankful for “getting to make these memories together with our family,” and Kane said he appreciates “having a platform to help raise people that feel down.”
Thank God: Christmas at Keller Ranch was written by Carley Smale. It stars Eshan Lyall, Jenny Fischer, Tyler Hilton and more. The movie is set to premiere on Saturday (December 13). Watch Kane and Katelyn talk about the movie on TODAY here:
