Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani appeared on the at-home edition of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday night (April 13). Shelton started the call solo explaining to Fallon that he is quarantined with "a bunch of Stefanis" at his ranch in Oklahoma.
The country star continued adding that he and Stefani actually do have a schedule to keep. His longtime girlfriend and pop star then appeared on camera dressed in camo pants and a sweater with clippers in her hand.
"I'm gonna be helping Blake grow out his mullet," she says. "Today we had already scheduled that it was haircut day, so I have my clippers, I got my attachments..."
As Stefani starts trimming the side of his head, Fallon continues the interview asking if either of the two had influenced the other's musical preferences. "There's music that Blake turned me on to, it's called country music," Stefani remarked. "I hadn't really listened to much of that on my ska playlist, but it's been really fun learning about country music and all the different...he's literally an encyclopedia."
As Stefani finished up the trim, Shelton asked her to shave a "J" and an "F" into the side of his head for Fallon. "I'm literally putting your initials in my head right now Jimmy, I'm not kidding," Shelton told Fallon.
"See this is why these shows are fun, because you would never do this in real life," Fallon responded, adding, "You are so Tiger King right now, you have no idea!"
Shelton had originally announced last month his plan to bring back his mullet during quarantine. "I have an announcement," he tweeted. "With basically EVERYTHING I had scheduled being canceled for the foreseeable further [sic] @gwenstefani and I have made a decision together," he previously explained on Twitter. "I am growing my mullet back as a symbol of hope or some s— like that.. Anyway it’s coming back! For real. Stay tuned…"
